Donald Robert Ross Thomson

On the same day, 18 April 1918, Private Donald Robert Ross Thomson was killed in action. He was 19 years of age.

Serving with 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, his regimental number was S/43290 and he had enlisted at Glasgow. Bertie, as he was known to his family, had formerly served with Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders (27800).

Donald was born Rogart on 9 October 1898 at Pittentrail, son of Donald Thomson (railway storeman) and Margaret née Ross. and enlisted at Glasgow. Donald is not listed on Rogart war memorial, but is commemorated at the Chocques Military Cemetery (Pas de Calais France).
