Walk to Rhaoin – Wednesday 4th October 2017
Meet at the war memorial on the A839 at Pittentrail, Rogart.
Using information from estate archives we will link the ruins of the cleared settlement at Rhaoin with the people who lived there. The settlement was tack of Gordon with 9 subtenants, but cleared in 1811 for a sheep farm. People went across the hill and took their timbers. Montrose is said to have camped here prior to Carbisdale battle.
Free/donations welcome. Children welcome with an adult. Dogs welcome, if on leads. Bring a packed lunch/snack. Walk level 2.
